Mandi Bunga (2016)

Mandi Bunga is a photographic series of self portrait artist, Nor as they perform a mandi bunga ritual for themselves. Through this act of the floral bath ritual, they hoped to reconcile both their cultural and gender identity. In the Malay Peninsula, the floral bath ritual is usually reserved for important occasions, not particularly to, but often associated with a woman's life e.g. her coming of age, before getting married and/or for beautification purposes.

The artist received instructions to shower themselves with flowers through a dream, to get rid of the bad luck following them since coming to terms with their own gender identity.
